It was downloading update tool version 35... I've just started downloading 
files for a new server using it, and it re-downloaded version 34, so I'm 
assuming the change has been rolled back.

Difference in files downloaded by v34 (original/current) vs v35 (temporary 
aberration) is around 3.9GB between two directories with otherwise identical 
configs
