Hi Orhan,

I can confirm this problem on my AMD duron which is running Gentoo. Even 
using vanilla sources for the kernel, or installing a binary kernel, I 
get the same issue. Users that have installs running in place ((for 
example, an old installation)) are not effected. It's just the new 
installs, unfortunately.

I found this out when one of my hard disks failed last week. Prior to 
the failure, my 1.6 server ran fine, however, upon trying to re-install, 
I get the illegal instruction error.

I am not aware of a work around at this time.
