Hi !

Try "ifconfig -a" and check how your eth-card is configured

Then I do this on one of our server ill get this:

[pe...@centos ~]$ ifconfig -a
eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:11:2F:ED:BA:17
          inet addr:192.168.0.104  Bcast:192.168.0.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::211:2fff:feed:ca17/64 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:19921184 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:18489312 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:1414381688 (1.3 GiB)  TX bytes:690690037 (658.6 MiB)
          Interrupt:18 Base address:0x2000

lo        Link encap:Local Loopback
          inet addr:127.0.0.1  Mask:255.0.0.0
          inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host
          UP LOOPBACK RUNNING  MTU:16436  Metric:1
          RX packets:949 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:949 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
          RX bytes:128949 (125.9 KiB)  TX bytes:128949 (125.9 KiB)

it must be something wrong with your settings if +ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx isnt
working.

Good Luck sir !

Peter
