Because you can't host a crappy 12 slot server on stone age CPU - you will
not play the game?
Thats a f***ing insane. You need to see a doctor. You can always host it
on better server (I mean server, not a desktop somewhere under the table
on some dial-up line). Or you can rent a 12 slot server (in my country you
can do it for ~10-11 Euros/month and that's not A LOT)
Even a Q6600 is a old school CPU and you blame Valve because you can't
HOST or play on some 9-year old computer. My Celeron SU2300 mobile would
do better. And hey, it's only 10W.

Newer engine has higher needs. It is likely that your celeron just got
too
old to run srcds.

As I remember Intel Celeron (Tualatin) 1200 doesn't have a SSE2? Does
it even handle CS:S 12 players? :|

Which CPU does this server have? Illegal instruction typically means
that your CPU does not have all the instruction sets SRCDS uses.
