Yes. You would want to use a symlink or similar. If you understand how a Linux filesystem works, / is the "top". Your FTP user probably doesn't (and shouldn't!) have access to write there. Your FTP user is probably able to write to /home/username/replays/. When you have /replay being in your config, it's trying to write it to the root of the drive, which it has no permission to do, and thus upload fails.
