Very much agreed. Perhaps for registered emails, a reply could make a new post? That might be a pipe dream, bit its an idea.
For the time being, if anybody wants it, I set mself up a catch-all gmail filter that takes any hlds emails and labels 'em. Then, if it's an update announcement or reply to one, it is marked as important. Otherwise, it skips the inbox and goes to said hlds label.
