It's pretty pathetic to know that servers that cater to people who can't
be arsed to buy a good game are more popular than the ones that serve
legitimate players.

weekly 1958 issue 6 "....whatever you do to stop them, something will
come along and pee on your strawberries..."
Valve solved the problem of TF2 piracy which begat complaints about
cheaters and general community snobbery.
That's one answer, but it might not work for all games.
For Valve's other games and services they seem to take the approach of
being focussed on getting customers and treating those customers in a
particular way rather than chasing bad money with good.
I imagine that basic approach will work for the killing floor folk too.
