Were you recently on the CSS server?
Since the MvM update came out, I have noticed that the player location directory service (whatever it's called) has been slow and not updating when people change servers.
So, I'll be playing TF2 on one server, go to another, and then people who use their friend's list to find out what game I am in are given the OLD game server instead of where I might currently be at.
Also, when inviting people, they are getting the OLD server where I was at previously instead of the new one.
I suspect this might be your problem and it has nothing to do with your setup.
