You'd have been better showing in game screenshots (we know what pink
and black look like :-) )
AIUI it's some kind of placeholder texture like the big red 'error'
signs are placeholders for missing objects.
Once upon a time TF2 used to display them for the reflections if you did
alt-tab but that's been fixed for ages.
Is it a custom map? Does the user have downloads disabled?
It sounds like a client problem.
