I think a solution like tsdns for srcds (srcds_dns) let us admins wider range for different solutions. Maybe it's the best to provide the source code under gpl (of course client not). We and providers can use our own Databases for it or someone likes simple textfiles more than a big database...
Why reinvent a different mechanism? We have a good working example?
