There is no defined upgrade path for servers. You have to sift through years of content and separate out what you need. You could also create a new vanilla install, make a list of files that exist, and remove those files from your old installs, that could work. However, it seemed more crazy then the initial move. Moving all of your files is a bad idea, and will result in no improvement from the new system.
