15Gbps is NOTHING. DDoS'ers are learning about NTP Amplification, and last week a huge part of CloudFlares network suffered from this. OVH's servers were both a source and a target for the attack, but their VAC system kept up. http://blog.cloudflare.com/technical-details-behind-a-400gbps-ntp-amplificat ion-ddos-attack
One of the guys behind Fragready has been a part of a lot of attacks against communities and game hosts. Pictures of him talking about NTP amplification and DDoS attacks has been leaked, and a lot of people want him busted - including datacenters, communities and hosts. If I remember correctly, he's known as Tucker. -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] På vegne af Steven Hartland Sendt: 17. februar 2014 00:45 Til: Half-Life dedicated Linux server mailing list Emne: Re: [hlds_linux] DDoS Victims Unfortunately 15Gbps is nothing as thats easy to generate from a 75Mbps connection. TBH unless you what to pay a lot i.e. thousands a month, for very high spec (200-400Gbps) DDoS protection then your unfortunately not protected from the current attacks :( Even with this type of protection you're going to see significant performance problems unless you happen to be in one of the limited DC's the DDoS protection companies are present in.
