So I assume, you've set the weblog link to your non-production tryout
dir (displaying /home/sleeper/blog/dev-null/htdocs)?

Ah, so this will not work when everything is replaced by weblog.expand_path?
While this may be the case, entry.link should return a better link then,
i.e. a relative one.  I like the replication feature, however... I am
currently using rsync of my ~/.hobix so that I can manipulate it with hobix
on both machines.
If the publish stuffs starts working better and it gets faster and it
supports previewing a post, then I see no need for using this double
hobix setup.
