Not sure how many of you have the issue of "Enterprise" development where there may be many constituents to any application you build. We have deployed one major Hobo application behind the firewall and are scheduled to complete the prototyping of a large application the end of January.
Both of these applications will be feeding into our data warehouse and BI applications.... So, one of our data warehouse developers (or a developer from another group or other agency) may see only the database schema and any documentation that the operational application developer provides (that is another question I will pase later.) It would make the integrator's life easier, and the powers-that-be happier, if there were quality metadata (e.g., table and column comments) that could be automatically populated and viewed from our common metadata warehouse. So, what about Hobo (HoboFields?) maintaining and migrating this information automagically. We do this with our Oracle and MySQL apps now. SQLite doesn't appear to have this functionality (at leasts I don't see it!). The question is: what is the best way for Hobo to do this. ActiveRecord doesn't appear to have this functionality, but maybe some of you know of a future plan. I would rather not depend on other third-party plugins for this. Hobo is too slick and our group is totally dedicated to doing whatever we can to help it gain traction. This would also be a great demo "magic trick" for potential clients.
