I have known about hobo for about 2 years, and checked out the progress from time to time. It looks like the progress has gotten really far, and is ready for production use. I am willing to invest the necessary time to learn hobo, as I have no deadlines. My webpage was first build in php and then migrated to Ruby on Rails. I used Active Scaffold to speed up development and clean up controllers and views. This was a huge mistake, as Active Scaffold was very hard to work with and very difficult to customize/reuse. I ended up writing my own controllers and views.
EZM is just an example, and I have no problem rolling my own. So basically I could take most of the code from the EZM message controller logic and write new views with hobo. Of course I would have to implement the hobo permission system etc. Kevin: What part of your friendship system needed hacks?
