I could see HoboFields turning (at least in part) into an ActiveModel add-on. After all, even the NoSQL crowd ends up defining fields an awful lot of the time (just looked at an example in MongoDB), and that would be a good fit.
Lifecycles could *possibly* go the same way, although there's a good deal of permission / acting_user stuff wound through there.
