Thanks Zooper, my environment at work is windows based but for this work I'm using my home machines which are mac/linux and I'm using a hosted linux app server. I've been through the experience of trying to set up technologies that were ported to windows but were meant for a *nix environment. It was never much fun for me either, so I sympathize with you. I was a cygwin user for many years. Thanks for your advice.
