For one I am not sure I see where to implement it. As far as I can see I 
cannot put it in as an initializer. The subclass needs to be read after 
hobo-fields has initialized.

Then, surely this should be possible without any hacks? Overrides in Hobo 
are normally fairly trivial. 

Is it not possible to control the display of rich types from hobo-fields? I 
thought that view (or input) was called for these too, as other field-types 
in Hobo?
