Well said ts.

It is a question of interpretation.

Something may happen with our computers
and we say 'this MUST mean'

and really it does not necessarily mean that at all . . .

For example computer experts decided if a computer could play chess and beat
humans
it MUST mean it was sentient.

Not so.

If we get mails from a certain address
that person must have sent it (in fact spammers spoof)
if we get looads of viruses someone must be out to get us 
(viruses make the rounds . . .)
etc

If we have tendencies
we should look to those patterns first.

That is what I hear.
That is good and appropriate advice.

Machines are stupid.
The amount of work they need to 
work properly (on occasion) can only be done
by us.
