geeks ... looking at my own groups ... i am finding lots of bogus emails being sent ... not only to the group but to the list owner as well. even got one from a member using the same address as the group posting address ... ie ... it would be as if holygeek got a message from a member mailed FROM [EMAIL PROTECTED] these sutomatically get bounced as there is no such member.
i also have members complaining of having their method of receiving email changed ... from "web view only" to "individual emails" or "digest" ... etc. THEY didn't do it and were wondering why i had changed them. well, i didn't. but someone did. so far ... no one has complained about being unsubbed. not yet anyway. ;) i also find others, including myself, who have received messages from yahoo telling them that their request to subscribe was not processed as they are already members. in other words, *someone* sent a message from them to subscribe ... when they are already members. so something strange is going on here. all of this can be done via email. for those not familiar with how it is done ... it just takes sending a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Subscribe to the list through email [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Unsubscribe from the list [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Switch your subscription to individual emails [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Switch your subscription to digest [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Switch your subscription to no mail - web view only. [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Post a message via email [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Sends email to the list owners so it is not unconceivable that a message to unsub might also be sent from a member ... without them actually having done so. and imo ... that is ONE explaination for what joyce may have experienced. and THAT is what i was trying to say in my original post. this is ONE possibility. perhaps this information will be of use. perhaps not. i have notified Yahoo ... but if you have ever tried to communicate with them ... then you know ... don't hold your breath. ;) -ts- ------------------------ Yahoo!
