Hi ts -
sorry to hear about your data loss... yes, it's all well and fine to be in acceptance mode, but i wonder - do you have any backups on removable media at all? CDs? floppies? hate to think of your artwork and all needing to be recreated...
although, when the server for curlchat burped a couple of months ago, there was a glorious resurrection, and the rewrite of the code (by Friedger largely) was even better than the original...
in fact, Lobster christened it Sun of CurlChat.
:)
Wishing you equanimity through this adventure of yours.
love and peace and metta to all holy geeks and their hardware,
joyce

joyce ...
went to:
http://www.active-undelete.com/
and found some great recovery software.
and it would have worked ;)
it found everything i had deleted ...
and i couod have recovered all/most of it ...
even tho i had also enptied the trash and
also emptied the norton protected files.
norton would have recovered them if i hadn't
emptied that first.
but ...
most of it had been overwritten ...
as after deleteing the files ...
i had also done a defrag.
so ...
was able to only recover 1% or so ...
and that has taken hours as the demo version
will not recover a folder with > 64KB in it!!!!
so i had to do it file by file.
bummer.
everything i have written in the past year.
ah well ...
as i'm always saying ...
"let it go"
"just put it down"
"be here now."
ok.
starting all over ...
everything is brand new.
i'm still dissapointed but ...
feeling quite a bit lighter as i am no longer
carrying all this old baggage around.
i do regret losing all the works i had
that were in progress ...
but ...
this is how it is.
may turn out to be a good thing.
the recovery software is great ...
may just spring for the shareware version.
onward.
[sigh]
