Hi Geeks -

I posted the below elsewhere earlier, and before posting graphics, i always convert and compress them (usually from jpg to gif or png).

This one gave me a lot of adventure that has never happened before. The jpg here is 39k (the original hi res is more than 3MB).

When i tried to convert to gif and compress, the file size INCREASED from 39k to more than 220k. I tried it with the same four graphics programs i always use and they ALL resulted in a file more than 5 times larger than the original one.

What's up with that? Anyone know? I have been compressing graphics for years and never had this happen.

Any assistance appreciated, though this is not an urgency, of course.

love and peace,
joyce

For to the bee, a flower is a fountain of life,
And to the flower, a bee is a messenger of love,
And to both, bee and flower,
The giving and the receiving is a need
 and
 an ecstasy.
