~~~ trojan horses come in disguised. thus the name. mostly from fake emails but many using ICQ and instant messaging ... which is why i don't use them. then they live there waiting for some signal ... to do various things like denile of service to some site by having your computer along with thousands of others all send emails at the same time to the same place. clogs up the net too. bu they don't often mess with your computer ... they are like a parasite ... that doesn't want to destroy it's host. but there are some other nasty things too these daze. anyway ... who want's a tapeworm? hmmmmm .... maybe a new diet trend ... or a pet ... goes where you go ... eats what you eat ... ;) the firewall will detect any activiy that is suspect. we are being pinged constantly by folks looking for computers to enlist in there "projects". most are looking for servers and are not interested in you. i recall having close to 100 hits per hour over the course of 3 hours ... one every 40 sec or so ... a few years back. but they weren't looking for me ... just a port they could exploit. but i did have to turn off my "alert" so i could get some work done. just keep your anti-virus stuff up to date ... and run it every day at some point. something will still get thru sometime. ;) no use to worry about what is beyond control ... or what COULD happen. there is enough stuff that DOES happen in our lives to keep us busy eh? ;) increase the peace -ts- ------------------------ Yahoo!
