Well worth it.
It is part of the Macromedia Suite (Do you have dreamweaver?)
 
Not yet - it is being ordered for me to use. :)

 
 
As a standalone program it might be useful
but if you are creating graphics in Dreamweaver (web creation)
then you can right click - edit, optimise trim and so on
 
Dreamweaver and Fireworks are a top combination
that normally also comes with flash which I have not bothered to learn
as there are easier alternatives
 
I have Flash and Fireworks -- two out of three is a good start.
 
Also have a trial version of Dreamweaver but it appears to be an older version.
 
You have mentioned Swish - is Swish more like Flash or one of the other components?
