No, i take that back... When it comes to moonlight, no window is the wrong window.

Oh yes... I am abashed. The problem was pebcak ("problem exists between chair and keyboard")...
I had plugged the phone cable into a jack with a t-connector, and once i removed the t-connector and plugged directly in this morning a short while ago, the modem started happening again.
I know better than to do that...
