The specific worry is that when investigating why I couldn't see my home
printer, I came across a reference to the use of multicast SNMP possibly
being used for printer discovery.

I also remember there being a IPP multicast discovery "feature".

Again, I don't know if either of these are used much in practice,
whereas we know mDNS is used quite a lot.

It is wiggling worms like these that make me so convinced that "running
code" is the only way to find out what can actually be deployed.
