I regularly print to both my work and home printer remotely (yes, over
IPv6. The CUPS server speaks IPv6 even if my home printer speaks only
USB).  I do this will all sorts of paperwork, receipts for online
expenses, etc.   Yes, I sometimes print to the wrong printer.
I also regularly print to these printers when "offline", knowing that
CUPS will punt it out when I get "home"

I believe that Google Cloud Print is getting close to eliminating my
need to own one of these infernal mechanical devices.

They exist. It would be nice if our secure setup protocol for homenet
could also be leveraged to setup remote access.
