Homenet is chartered to produce a suite of specifications that will allow for autonomous unmanaged routing in a home network. The set of vendor organizations that support TRILL is, AFAIK, completely disjoint from the set of vendor organizations that sell routers for the home. I would be delighted if we could get home routers from some of the rather excellent vendor organizations in the first set, but that is not the reality at the moment, and I see no reason to expect that to change. Furthermore, we really need for this to be supported by open source router software, and AFAIK TRILL is not supported on that software, although certainly in principle it could be, and David Lamparter’s open source IS-IS implementation for OpenWRT might even be able to be turned to that purpose if someone were interested.
