I would also be interested in this... a few years ago I wrote a variant of OLSR (v1) with a semi-reliable transport (some linklocal retransmission scheme) but stopped working on the thing because ETX routing metric I had contained too much change/noise anyways. Reliability is not that useful if the metric has changed in a relevant way between two iterations of the update.
