Hi all---Adam Unsworth plays a single b flat, with low note extension and a stopping 'pinky' lever, made by Karl Hill (Kortesmaki) in Michigan. He played it last week at our jazz horn festival here in Seattle, I tried it, very nice. He sounded great (as did all the others). He also had played another modified single b flat, at times, even as 4th horn in Philly Orch. It had a piston thumb change for the low notes, I believe. AND, my 8-y-old can get a pretty darn good sound out of my Olds single b flat, I got when I was in 4th grade, um, JUST a few years ago, still have it. Not a bad little horn. ---best to all, tom v _______________________________________________ post: [email protected] unsubscribe or set options at https://pegasus.memphis.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
