Tim! I'm sorry but I can't let that one go. I have listened to the recording and can't here any "CLAMS" certainly not in the introduction. If one is being Hyper critical" you can hear from the Right hand horn group a slightly snagged arpeggio, but it is so deeply interwoven with the String parts that it can be dismissed.
It really doesn't count as a "Cock-up" in any way and is actually exactly what the composer wanted, raw and on the edge! I have heard far worse both Live and on recordings. I would rather hear exciting risky horn playing any day than playing for safety. If it occasionally doesn't work thats life.
