Hi all - My wife and I just returned from seeing 'Armida' at the Met this past Tuesday evening. What a lovely, rare gem! The horn lines are exquisite, and beautifully executed by Anderer (and excellently complemented by Brubaker on 2nd!). Principal vocal lines are lovely (and very athletic!) If you have a chance to catch this either live (or see the HD broadcast tomorrow if available to you), it would be worth your while IMHO.
The staging/choreography is a different story, unfortunately, but I'm hoping that this is resolved when the opera is re-run next season.
