Warning - less than wholly positive comments follow - read at your own risk.

I have only listened to this through the speakers of a netbook with many
buffering pauses, but it did sound pretty good. What I would like to add
here, in hopes of clarifying some of Hans' comments, is that Donato
Inglese is not an unknown factor to me or the list (if you review the
archives, you will see a number of postings, some from yours truly). I
suggest viewing some of the other youtube videos that he has posted
before forming any opinion of Signore Inglese's place in the hormplaying
firmament. I am generally impressed by his aggressive, frequently off
the wall, style, but there is plenty visible, particularly his one on
one with Herrmann Baumann, that will make you question his grasp on
reality.

I can also add that one of my previous comments on this list regarding
his videos, that I thought was more positive than not, prompted a
message directly from him that I found more than a little threatening
and belligerent.

All of this just confirms to me that it is good to keep the person and
the player clearly separated in ones mind. Reading about Anton Horner's
anti-semitism, as I did not too long ago, doesn't make me any less
appreciative of his recordings and the quality of his teaching and his
student's playing, but it is of some interest. Inglese still impresses
me at his peak, but still leaves me with feeling of watching someone
practicing self-sabotage in most of his self-posted efforts.

I'm going on vacation tomorrow, so flame me on this all you want; I'll
read it in Septermber.

Peter Hirsch
