But be aware, "Schalltrichter auf" does not mean "over the head", it means
only: hands out of the bell nearly (a bit neaded to corrct pitch) and the bell
"lifted up to sound sidewards" to create the special effect of a very "stark"
but hollow sound, similar to children playing with a stove pipe. An enormous
acoustical effect. No composer has the right to ask horn players to damage the
neigbour players left ear (internationally) or right ear (Vienna), not even
Mahler. And, this described way still allows pitch control. Playing it
"standing" does not change the matter, but is a welcome additional optical
effect - the possible accidents (collapsing music stand, falling chair, etc.)
included or preprogrammed.

Ha-ha-ho-hoh ! Mahleur !

No Dopplereffekt, but Purzel-effekt ! Noisy anyway.
