Steve, 

I picked that one up at the BSO Gift shop last summer.  It's the one that
has started me off on the tack of reading material. 

You are right it is a good book.

Since you mention your wish list, anyone interested in music from the late
nineteenth century through the present ought to read, "And The Rest Is
Noise" by Alex Ross, classical music critic for the New Yorker Magazine - a
great read.  It comes to mind because Mahler figures in the book
prominently, of course.
