But a quick velcro connect & release might work... if it weren't so

The strap I designed for myself really helps, but the left arm still
bears weight which adds strain for me.

This is very curious to me. I actually put my horn ON leg when I'm
tired from strain of holding it off leg.

You're so right with that one, but... I think I have the perfect solution...

Attach 50 to 100 descrete black helium balloons to the horn to make it
as light as a feather!  Since we usually play on the back row, who
could possibly object?
