Hi Valerie,

I agree with everything you've said and concur with Milton's view of  
lip trills being fast slurs. Whilst at college, it took me six months  
before I became proficient, so maybe it's a patience thing.

I don't even think, when we are 'lip' slurring for ordinary valve  
slurs, that the movement has to be co-ordinated with the valves, not  
consciously anyway. So long as there is lip movement it will work.
