Hello Simon,

I'm pretty much playing it by memory, and the conductor has, for the most part, 
been following me-- and it's worked well thus far. 

I haven't had a chance to speak with him [Mr. Clarinet] about this-- though I 
suppose anything is possible! As has been mentioned in the thread, he is a good 
player, and a nice guy, but the gyrations he displays in the other movements 
lead me to suspect that this is not a case of the somewhat misguided "helpful 
colleague". 

Truth be told, I'd be a bit p***** o** if this was indeed what he was trying to 
do; imagine me moving my chair into his view, then swaying back-and-forth in my 
seat as I was making conducting movements [I can't conduct electricity!] next 
to him at some point in the suite, because I assumed that he wasn't following 
the conductor?? Something tells me HE wouldn't appreciate that...
