Strangely enough in another life, we came to the realization that just
focusing on what needed to be fixed wasn't good enough.  You had to also pay
attention to what you were doing right and keep those things going as you
worked on things that that needed improvement.

That's why the term "critique" was dumped and "after action review" was
instituted.  In an AAR you spent an equal amount of time on the things that
went well as you did on the things you needed to improve upon.

This is a brilliant idea!  Many horn players focus on the mistakes...the
things we want to be better.  But in a situation like this (well, the
situation of LIFE, really), we'll do better by focusing on our progress, and
how to make recovery swifter, better, and more fruitful.

Thank you Ricardo, for this needed reminder of how to maintain improvement.
I stay on these lists for just these kinds of wise nuggets that show up
regularly...usually just when I need them!
