I may have mentioned my recent addiction, contributing to 
http://www.oedilf.com , the limerick dictionary website, whose intention 
is to define every shade of meaning of every English word in the form of 
limericks.  I just worked up one for "clam" in the sense that hornists 
understand it; here it is for your amusement:

Playing music's a kind of exam;
I might pass, if I don't make a clam.
Can it be I was born
To miss notes on a horn?
Luscious sounds and then <<brappityblam>>.
