Erm, he didn't write any horn quartets either. (and he didn't write for valve 
horns or wagner tubas either)

Better, ask "How many great composers have written........"  

No great composers have written for saxophones, pan flutes or double bass 
concerti so maybe you're right after all.  (None have written for flute choir 
either!)
