Professor Pizka,
I had a chance to take a horn lecture of Arcady in Moscow,
ID. At the time I was a student at UI and had to leave do
to finacial problems. I bought his CD and love listening to
it. I have been trying to perfect the duo-tone sound,
playing one note while humming in the horn another note,
either a 4th, or 5th above played note. I'll do it for
practice when i am with a group and they all look at me
like I an crazy. Is this a normal reaction of others? I
love to do it especally when we are playing a march and
need the extra notes in the chord to fill out a part. The
diretor who is 80+ years old, and deafer then a doornail,
just continues to direct and then says, "Wow. that sounds
good horns." So I guess it's good for that too besides a
trick to play.
Thanks,
James Potter

P.S.
If you could get a message to Arcady, could you ask him
when he will be back to Moscow, ID for the Jazz Fest? I'd
love to know if he has any other CD's out to listen too
also.
