Hello,
I would like to pose a question (for everyone). I've been working on low
attacks (loud and staccato, legato and slurred, mezzo forte and staccato, legato
and slurred, etc) and I have found a few shortcomings. Whether it may be my
break, or just not enough work in that area (or both!) I am trying to figure
out. I have come a very long way in the past year regarding my low register,
but now I want to take the next step.

What I wanted (if you all have the time!) is to inquire about everyones
favorite low horn technical exercises (not etudes)... many exercises (warmups) are
personal and created for specific reasons, and I was just hoping that some of
you would be willing to share. All minds work in different ways, so I'm sure
there are exercises I have *never* thought of floating around. Also, could
you include what type of embouchure you have (einsetzen, ensetzen..etc...if
applicable! ). If you do not wish to share this with the list, please feel free
to email me personally. ([EMAIL PROTECTED])

I am trying to decide if my einsetzen embouchure is really working to my
advantage, or if I should possibly consider switching to the ensetzen way of life.
(Again, this will be my personal decision, once I've done some more work and
research on the subject.) I have been playing with this embouchure for 16
years now, and it has served me well... but as I progress in my professional
career (or the beginnings of that career)...I'm starting to notice a few...
"chinks". Hopefully with the right amount of work, and the correct use of my
warmup, I wont have to worry about an embouchure change.

Thank you all so much for your help! I look forward to hearing from you all.
