Well the reason why I want to clean out everything is because I can look with a flashlight and tell that there is some dirt that I want to get rid of, and well the little ultrasonic cleaner I have isn't big enough to support the entire horn :P Also, I do wish to be thorough since soap and water doesn't get everywhere you want it to get to clean things out, especially when a bearing plate could be stuck enough to not let any water get between it and the side of the casing.
As to the bottom screw rings being stuck, it seems to me that they shouldn't really permanently be on there. I can't really see any reason why you'd want them stuck there unless you were afraid they would unscrew mid-practice. If you screw them on tight enough where they stay but aren't stuck then you shouldn't have a problem, correct?
