HOT has been very reactive to this disaster in Philippines and thanks to Andrew
Buck who has coordinated this action with HOT  and our partners at the DHN
Network and Red Cross.  Thanks also to Maning Sambale who is also coordinating
from the Philippines and working with his community to react to this very
dramatic situation. More then 400 OSM contributors have mapped so far.

But we ear again very bad news coming from Philippines. There is a death toll
of more then 10,000 people in Batoclan city alone.

And without annoucing it officially, we have moved gradually this weekend to an
official activation.  The DHN Network and HOT as a participant of this network
have activated at the request of OCHA. Kate Chapman of HOT is one of the
coordinator of the DHN Network.

Andrew Buck is coordinator of this Activation. Maning Sambale and I are
supporting him.  With Maning in the Philippines, we can assure a 24 hours
presence.

Even if a tremendous effort has been made so far, more is to come.  We
will continue to communicate through this HOT list to announce the
various new needs. As usual, the wiki page is used to coordinate for this event
and the Task Manager to coordinate Remote Mapping. For the ones that want to
support us more closely, the communications are made through the HOT irc
channel.
Some contributors are looking at new imagery to support this Action. Others are
preparing material to show the progress of this Action.

More to come and a great thanks to all.
