A couple functions from the 'Utils2plugin' plugin that I very often use when drawing complex buildings:
If I want more rectangles/buildings squared with one I have just drawn I often find it easier to press 'Alt-Shift-Z' than to select it by clicking it. Instead of manually selecting every single rectangle, I just select one and then press 'I' until they are all selected. If 2 rectangles share one node and could share one more node if it was joined, 'Shift-J' will not work. Fix this with 'Shift-I'.
