I've been using SmarterMail for many years and have been very happy
with it, especially the latest version (5 I believe). I have the 50
domain/250 user license, if you get the enterprise version you can
share calendars and contacts, much like Exchange.
If you want to play around with it some let me know and I'll set you up
an account.

Subject: [houcfug] mail server?
hey
guys,
Our
corporate mail server (iMail) is very long in the tooth and badly needs
replacing. Does anyone have a recommendations for a mail server for a
company of 45 +/- people, all of whom work remotely? All our servers
are hosted off-site. I don't think the powers-that-be will pony up for
Exchange Server, nor do I think they should. There has to be something
smaller, cheaper ad easier to maintain.
Thanks
