We have previously been a heavy Model-Glue and ColdSpring shop. We have
explored Coldbox some and I really like what I saw.

To me, MG takes too much configuring and is not the most intuitive
framework. Any framework is going to be difficult if you aren't familiar
with MVC because thats what most rely on.

Coldbox plays up their advantage as "convention vs configuration". IN MG,
you configure the parts of app via XML. Coldbox is more like Fusebox in
that parts are in folders where you'd expect based on convention.

Haven't written a major app in Coldbox yet, but my next big app will be.

AUG - Announce - Adobe User Group - Announce

Fooey. I bought it the day it came out. No discount for me :-| (Don't have
it yet; CreateSpace's shipping options are a bit slow/pricey, though you can
get a Kindle version.)

I think ColdBox is very well thought out, and does a lot for you, and easily
plugs into other framework/methodologies well. You do, however, have to
spend some serious up-front time wrapping your head around it, especially if
you're not experienced in MVC. Some of the other frameworks seems easier to
follow to me, but they don't seem to have CB's featureset - if you're used
to just jumping in and writing code, CB's DI/caching/security/etc will leave
you scratching your head alot at first.

Luiz Majano would like to share a discount code with all ColdFusion user
groups for his new book: The Definitive Guide to the Coldbox Platform.

The code is 58M36URE and you can purchase it here:
https://www.createspace.com/3411525

The code is for 15% discount on the book for user groups. The cool thing is
that the book is more about building sustainable ColdFusion applications.
