Thanks Michael!   I’ve noticed that there seem to be slight pressure indentations through the middle of the paper – but I think these are from pressure put on the paper before the print, not after. Could this be bad media? I doubt it. I think the Satin paper is pretty delicate.   I’ve noticed (as someone else noted) that if I leave the roll paper fed into the printer that I get big indentations – so I always eject the roll paper if I’m not using it, now. I’ve tried calibrating the paper feed to see if this helps – it really doesn’t that I can tell. I’ve started wearing gloves all the time, too. The roll paper masking tape is definitely lame – I hate it.   -Bob   PS: I have a slightly reworked version of my PVC special roll paper holder – hopefully I’ll get the time topost some pics soon. The basic idea is to use 45 deg bends to make flat feet rather than the angle cuts I was doing before.   -Bob   From: Michael E. I built a PVC stand exactly like Bob Wise's (thanks, Bob) and chop the roll down. Turns out after a fair lot of printing today, the problem with sheet feeding was almost entirely the fault of the rip. I'm not having these problems with the stock driver.   After speaking with HP tech support, I'm understanding that the track marks are due to bad media batches and NOT any wheels within the roll feed. She insists those must have been bad media batches and sufficient dry down didn't occur by the time the print  hits the exit wheels. Comments?   >> Also, be careful handling the paper, hand oils will show up on the prints especially when they are on the bare paper and the ink is on top of the oils. I'm buying darkroom gloves for handling mine as I lost the first 2 turns of my last roll to fingerprints from when I loaded it.   I always wear gloves ;) I lost the first two turns of my roll to HP's idiotic masking taping 1.5 times or so around the roll.
