Purchased a B9180 to gain experience with the Vivera pigment inks - sits beside my DJ90, the two almost fit on a 60 inch table side-by- side, needs a little propping up at one end.
The good news for the B9180 is it's a pigment printer, can achieve long life on several media. In short, it's an Epson 2200 built right - calibration loop, larger ink cartridges, self-maintaining and front specialty meda feed. The included profiles work ok, although I still prefer custom ProfileMaker profiles (I admit to being biased). The bad news is it's a pigment printer; the usual ink-sits-on-top gloss differential effect on glossy and semi-gloss. HP seems to have matched the ink gloss fairly well to the Advanced glossy paper, but on Advanced satin one would have to put the print behind glass or apply some sort of surface treatment to hide the GD. However, as a mate to the DJ90, works out well for me, even though it's limited to 13" wide media. Works ok with the included HP print driver, so far I see no need for a RIP to achieve good quality prints. At $527 total cost from Amazon, it's a great buy, IMO. Keep your DJ for printing on glossy/semi-gloss surfaces.
